Creative therapy for trauma, anxiety, grief, and life transitions.

At The Healing Brush, we believe in the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit. We offer a safe and supportive environment for individuals seeking art therapy and counselling services as they navigate major life changes, heal from past wounds, and find balance in their life.
The Healing Brush is founded by Domenica Mastromatteo, a registered clinical counsellor and professional art therapist. With over a decade of experience, Domenica has provided essential counseling services through individual and group therapy, consultation, education, and program development in her community.

A first-generation Italian-Canadian mom of three awesome neurodivergent youth living in a home run by two dogs and two cats!
I’m also a Registered Clinical Counsellor, Parent Educator, Child Advocate, Consultant, Freelance Writer, Professional Art Therapist and Artist.
My approach is client-focused, strengths-based, and trauma-informed, with safety and trust as the foundation. From there, we collaborate—building resilience, expanding choice, and supporting you in creating a life that feels meaningful and truly your own.
As an interdisciplinary artist, art therapist, and counsellor, I curate compassionate, creative spaces where emotions can be expressed, regulated, and understood.

I offer a wide range of counselling services, including individual counselling, couples counselling, group therapy, and more. Services are tailored to meet the unique needs of each of clients.

I take a holistic approach to counselling, focusing on the mind, body, and spirit. I'm trained in a variety of evidence-based techniques and therapies to help clients achieve optimal mental health.
